Located on a hill overlooking the blue Pacific, Dharma Shala is 2.5 hours from either Liberia / Guanacaste Airport or Managua Airport, each accessed by multiple international flights every day. Transport from the airport is arranged as part of our offering. Six separate rooms surround our pool for community building while allowing for individual refuge. Stone paths connect all spaces, weaving through gardens and the natural forest. From our palm roofed shala to our outdoor kitchen, we offer a natural sanctuary mindfully designed for small groups.

Yoga, surf or meditation retreats as well as healing arts or writing workshops fit well within the space. We assist in bringing your event to life. One or two group leaders create the perfect ratio of teacher to student, allowing personal attention as well as group dynamics.

Our home was conceived from a deep longing for community and purpose. Dharma meaning path or teachings and Shala being a place to rest, we've created an intimate venue where your group can relax, feel safe and grow, while experiencing the beauty of Nicaragua. We take care of everything from transportation to activities and meals, so that you can focus energy on leading your group.

We absolutely love hosting our retreats at Dharma Shala Nicaragua. It’s a beautiful location in the middle of the jungle, but very close to the beach so we can take our guests surfing every day, a beautiful yoga shala where we do all our yoga classes and workshops. During the day a guest can chill by the pool. It’s actually super close to town too, so we have all the options. Chris and Beth are two beautiful souls that will provide you the best experience at their centre. All our guests feel like part of the family after they spend time with them. Everything is well organized and super professional. This is the best place to stay. Either you’re hosting your retreats or you just wanna come and chill at this beautiful paradise with your family or friends.

From an organizer’s perspective, working with Chris and Beth has been an absolute dream. They are deeply supportive, professional, and genuinely care about making every retreat a success. Communication is always clear and easy, and it’s obvious they operate with strong, heart-centered values. They work hand in hand with us to make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. The retreat center itself is a hidden gem on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. Set in the heart of nature, it’s a peaceful and inspiring space where our participants can truly recharge. The land is alive—not just with beautiful gardens and greenery, but with the occasional visits from monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife that remind you just how close to nature you are.

At Dharma Shala we offer thoughtfully created, cultivated, and conscientious community meals. Sharing meals is a great way to meet people, share experiences, and gain exposure. Vegetarian at heart, we understand that nourishing the body is as important as nourishing the palette. From yummy soups, created with our homegrown veggies, exciting tropical fruit salads our menu is tailored to your needs.

Sattvic, plant based, specific dietary needs, and of course personal preferences are all taken into consideration. 2 or 3 meal per day options for retreats and large groups, or simply a welcome dinner for a short stay for just a few guests, crafted with healthy and satisfying tastes and textures. Global inspiration reflected in each of our meals will prepare your group for easy digestion and energy for all of your activities.

Nicaraguan coffee and a variety of teas made with locally grown lemongrass, ginger, and tumeric, grown at Dharma Shala as well as ambient temp or chilled cucumber or mint water are available throughout the day to keep your group hydrated. Specialty juices and smoothies upon request or in place of mealtime, depending on your preference.
